Our History
Leslie & Associates founder, Malcolm Leslie, had worked as a firefighter for many years when he started selling fire extinguishers to his contacts in the fire services industry. In 1997, Whelen Engineering Company Inc. approached Malcolm, asking him to promote their emergency lighting & warning products and services throughout Eastern Canada. Since then, Leslie & Associates has grown to represent four manufacturing companies across Canada: Whelen, Havis, OPS, and All Fleet Solutions.
1984
Working as a firefighter at the time, Malcolm Leslie started to sell small products to the local Fire Department. First Whelen product sold.
1997
Malcolm took on the territory of Central and Eastern Canada for Whelen Engineering Co. Leslie & Associates was established.
2013
Leslie & Associates expands and introduces Havis product line for Central and Eastern Canada.
2017
L&A begins to represent OPS Public Safety within Canada.
2021
Whelen announces territory expansion for L&A, adding Alberta, Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories, and Yukon Territories.
